Techtronic Industries

Digital Marketing Executive

“I have used Jack for a variety of roles across our EMEA European Headquarters, it is clear to me that he understands our culture and mentality here at TTI incredibly well and is able to ascertain and retain the information given in briefing calls.

I have the utmost trust in Jack that he will work his hardest to find us good quality candidates instead of wasting our time on candidates who do not fulfil the basics of the role.”

The Brief - Find a Digital Marketing Executive with a background in e-commerce

When Techtronic Industries first signed up with TwentyFour, it was at a time when they were seeking to replicate the success of their brand Vax and it’s DTC e-commerce success, across to their other brands.
Fast forward a few years of working with us on various other roles, there was an urgent need to hire a digital marketing executive to back-fill a gap left from an internal promotion.

Needless to say, there were minimum requirements which the client felt would help the new hire to settle quickly and reduce the chances of creating a gap in marketing content and activity whilst a less experience hire might have taken a while to get up to speed with.

After a briefing meeting, Jack had a full understanding of the requirement in both experience and educational background, whilst already knowing the culture fit which for TTI, is a significant factor.
With the client being based in a location that is on the London commuter belt, the candidate pool is limited and so this vacancy required a full select and search headhunt, in order to widen the options and bring in candidates who could transfer skills quickly.

In short, talent was attracted through the use of social media tools and targeting other e-commerce businesses.

After an extensive search, working under time limitations, after the candidate long-list was established,  6 candidates were shortlisted, narrowed to 4 online first stage interviews, with the final 2 invited for in-person presentation interviews.  Both performed well, with the favourite being offered.

But in a fast-paced market, it wasn’t plain sailing. The favourite had other applications in process and a competitive counter offer from their existing employer.
After some additional consultation between TTI and Jack, the candidate was encouraged to have a ‘rubber stamp’ meeting with the hirer and soon realised that the client was keen to have them onboard – the candidate cancelled all other applications.

Between the friendly approach by the client and the consultative approach by our consultant Jack, the candidate felt at ease with making the choice to accept the clients offer.

With so many twists and turns, it was the personal approach and impartial advice, that helped get this placement over the line.
